first thing im actually doing is sprinting straight into the ocean to find out what kills me. drowning, a shark, a stray boat, a dirty needle, whatever. gotta learn the rules of the water immediately.

first find a station i genuinely love, then drive the immediate area to learn my surroundings, and as the sun drops ill park somewhere overlooking the beach and just watch it go down.

crash a motorbike straight into a railing and see how the ragdoll holds up. i sank actual hours into gta4 turning Niko into a crash test dummy, cannot wait to do it all over again.

also gonna jump and hit punch at the same time to check if the manual ragdoll from 5 survived. probably didnt since it wasnt in rdr2, but a man can hope.

would be lovely if we start in the keys and can just about see the city skyline way off in the distance. takes me right back to gta3 as a kid, staring out at a locked Shoreside Vale wondering what on earth was over there. that longing is the good stuff.

im firmly in the let the world come to me camp. playing rdr2 for the first time right now and im realising how huge a tiny town can feel when you actually slow down instead of rushing everywhere.

ill be poking at the new wanted system and the npc reactions to see how much has genuinely changed under the hood.

assuming we open in Key Lento im taking it dead slow. walk Jasons neighbourhood, snoop round the yards, see how detailed each plot is, and just look at absolutely everything.

i can already picture half the playerbase stood on the roadside doing truck spotting like its a proper sport, except its a phone camera instead of a tripod

truck spotting with the phone

you mentioning the phone makes me really hope its way less clunky this time, especially the camera, cause its gonna be an even bigger deal than it was in 5.

starter save run. see how much you can pull off at the very start, zero deaths, zero busts, the usual nonsense.

zero deaths, zero busts

im all for that play style but i HAVE to mess around and see what i can get away with first before i go clean.

depends where we open. if its the keys im taking a boat round every last island. if its the city i just wanna walk down ocean drive and take it all in.

once ive found my car of choice im probably driving straight up to Gloriana to see what theyve done with it.

im gonna be a tourist. see everything on a surface level like someone on a really tight budget, no engaging npcs or businesses, just dragging it out and gawking at stuff. save the real stuff for later.
